Ginger and black pepper oils for sprains 48

Rest the sprain in an ice pack, 15 minutes, 3 times a day. Between times massage with the following oils diluted in carrier oil.

5 drops .................... Clove
15 drops .................... Ginger
5 drops .................... Nutmeg
5 drops .................... Black Pepper
.................... Carriers: ice pack, carrier oil
How to Use:

Massage: When applying essential oils to the skin, always dilute with a carrier oil before applying. 5 drops EO per teaspoon or 15 drops EO per tablespoon of base oil . One teaspoon will be sufficient for most bodies.

Compress/Skin Wash:

Essential oils diluted with water may be used for external applications, both in compresses or in skin washes.

Skin Washes: Oils make be diluted with plain water, herbal teas, or mixed with herbal tinctures to make very effective skin washes.

Compresses :These may be cool or warm and can be made from any clean cloth folded to make a pad. Dilute the essential oils into the water, using 8 to 15 drops per cup of liquid. Dip the cloth into the liquid, wring out the excess moisture and apply to the treatment area. This method is used to treat skin irritation, headaches, chest congestion or swelling from an injury.

When making ice packs, you may choose to apply the essential oils directly to the pack.
