Aromatherapy for Home and Garden

Essential oils are very useful around the house and in the garden. Just add them to everyday ingrediants to make your own powerful cleasnsers, deorderizers, pest control and more.

Baking Soda: Don't buy expensive carpet fresheners that do nothing more than add cheap, chemical laden scents to ordinary baking soda. Essential oils blends added to baking soda make a better smelling alternative that is naturally disinfects and deodorizes your carpet. Keep mixture stored in an airtight container. Use about 60 drops of oil to cup of baking soda.

Grapefruit Extract: Grapefruit extract is user-friendly, versatile, easy to use, and environmentally safe, so safe in fact that you can use it to purify drinking water to kill disease causing pathogens when traveling, or in cases of emergency (ten drops per gallon of clear water). It is often added to homemade cosmetic and medicinal formulations to extend shelf-life. Add 15-30 drops of extract to any 32 oz pump sprayer filled with your favorite cleanser or this can be added just to water. Grapefruit seed extract can be used to clean fungus and mildew off of shower stalls, tile, swimming pools, and birdbaths. You can also add 0 or more drops of extract into a sink full of cold water. Briefly soak any vegetables, meats fruits, or poultry to kill germs.

You can replace the over-priced toxic cleaning chemicals with white vinegar. It is naturally anti-fungal and leaves the bathroom, windows, and glass ware clean and shiny. The best way to clean fresh produce is a solution of one part vinegar to three parts, which removes 98 percent of the bacteria.
